- While several technologies – batteries, liquid hydrogen, bio fuels – exist to power vehicles without combustion engines, there needs to be a greater number of charging stations and the infrastructure to support them in order to have widespread adoption of electric vehicles. (3:00)
- Most consumers and businesses think electric vehicles are difficult and time-consuming to charge, but when the charging infrastructure is in place, people can charge passenger cars at home and industry will be able to charge heavy-duty vehicles with onboard chargers, making it easier than going to a gas station. - At the moment, batteries for electric vehicles are still very expensive, creating another barrier to adoption. (10:15)
- Federal, state and local governments need to provide incentives for electric vehicle adoption. The subsidies currently provided are a start, but more needs to be done. (10:45)
- The federal government plan to electrify school buses is a good one and will create a healthier environment for our children. (15:50)
- There need to be clear business incentives for adopting electric vehicles. Companies will adopt electric vehicles when there is a positive financial impact. (19:20)
- With the growing push from governments, electric vehicle adoption will increase in the years ahead. (24:00)
- Electrification in off-highway vehicles will happen in the coming years. Danfoss Editron is focused on ensuring off-highway customers will have the tools and support to make the full transition to electric motors. (25:50)
